Urban Environmentalism

In the last couple of days, I’ve seen a couple of articles that have made me think that more and more of our politicians are finally getting the clue that Environmentalism doesn’t have to be a dirty word. In fact, it can be a real cash cow if implemented properly.

The first article is from the Toronto Star: Mandating Energy Efficiency

The second article is from the New York Times: To Revitalize a City, Try Spreading Some Mulch

Between these, and the fact that several larger communities near the GTA are implementing Green Bin programs similar to Toronto’s, perhaps there’s still hope for our urban centres.
